Animal Care Assistant
Megan has worked at Qualicum Beach Animal Hospital since 2017, and has been working and studying in the field since 2015. She completed the Animal Care Aide program from VIU in 2017, and is now working towards becoming an RVT through the distance program at Thompson Rivers University.
Her hobbies include camping, reading and cooking, spending time with her favorite humans and her favourite dog Mr. Bean. (Note: the picture to the side is of Megan with her fur-nephew Jackson, as Mr. Bean couldn’t make it to the photo shoot)
Her special interests at work include general animal nursing (placing on IV fluids, administering medications, and healing snuggles), performing lab work, and wound care. Being able to be a part of the process of having an animal come in not feeling their best, and having them leave feeling even a little bit better is her favourite part of her job.
Megan is very excited to become an RVT and feels so lucky to have the opportunity to learn from the most incredible people in the industry.
